DANY ATRACHE COLLECTION 2012
Dany Atrach's Haute Couture collection was showcased at the Paris Fashion Week back in January, and although a little late, I think this is the best time to refresh the memory of my readers who've seen the collection. The show was all about the tiered skirts on the gowns and long, full sleeves a couture trend for the upcoming season I presume. Dany Atrache's Spring/Summer 2012 couture kind of reminds me of a romantic Valentino collection, with a little less romance and a lot more panache.
Attention to detail was key in the way some of the fabrics were cut, especially in the short skirts that had fringe, pasted lifelike florals, and unique architectural cutouts. I particularly like the details on the black & white dresses and the cuts and embroidery work, the long dresses were flowy and some had structured effects like those tiers, as well as embroidery and feathers. Colors were more subdued, making the entire line look much more Fall/Winter than Spring/Summer but if the brand wanted to get our attention, it certainly succeeded in that with the black & white dresses. The collection took place at Le Fouquet's famous French restaurant and hotel on the Champs Elysées. The collection was dedicated to Paris, cinema, and the red carpet.
