NYFW Elie Tahari Spring 2012
For Spring 2012, designer Elie Tahari was inspired by ancient Egypt and the hourglass figure of the early 1900s. As such he created a wardrobe fit for the modern day Cleopatra. Sleek silhouettes dominated with wrap dresses, polished button-ups, long leather skirts, and trousers that tied around the bottom of the foot. Sandy desert hues shone through with rust and yellow serving as a tribute to the sun god Ra. Gold jewelry adorned the necks, wrists, and waists of all the models, and ornate details such as snakeskin prints and metallic gladiator sandals finished the regal look.
